so cold

i’ve been thinking
it’s a good plan
that we take a trip
a small getaway
i’ve heard it’s nice up north
this time of year
snow on the ground
and us wrapped up inside it

This heat is killing me
i just have to get away
somewhere where the rain
doesn’t evaporate
before hitting the ground
somewhere i can lay my head
without the bees digging
into my brain

well it’s simple, i’d think
if you’d just listen, you’d know
but you’re wrapped up in yourself
everything that doesn’t involve home
