Scrappy? Scrappy who?
Okay, I’m officially ready to disown this family. You know the puppy we brought home the other day? Who we so awesomely named Scrappy?! Well.. turns out,Scrappy wasn’t too fitting as a name, or so my sister and mom thought… You see when he wags his tail and is near anything it makes a noise. A thump noise.. like thump thump thump, etc etc - so my mom and sitter being the geniuses they are (*cough*) decided that the name Thumper would be suited better for him. I think it’s kind of sad for the dog, and kind of sad for me cause I was just getting used to calling him Scrappy. However, he DOES respond better to it! So I suppose all in all thats good :)
As for how he’s doing, he’s doing really well… he had his appointment at the vet today, he’s healthy, and in good condition, way underweight, but we’ve only had him about a week - and we’re not miracle workers, but he is slowly putting on weight, his ribs aren’t nearly as defined as they were, so thats good :) At the vet we were told he weighted 15lbs, but he doesn’t the vet made it very clear that he only weighs 13.2lbs, which I’m not sure if you have any clue how much miniature poodles weight/should way - but my dog which is half the size of him, weights 7lbs, so obviously something is a little off! Anyhow, he’s doing good, he’s really happy and active! I was a little worried he wouldn’t come out of his shell with the other dogs around, but he is, and it’s great :) Him and Billy were even almost playing today, which is nice to see, because Billy pretty much just avoids him if he can, which is a little sad - Roxy doesn’t mess with him much but she doesn’t go out of her way to ignore him or anything, she’ll lay next to him, and things of that nature!
I have to call the Opthamologist tomorrow morning to see how much it’s going to cost to have his cataract removed so we can start saving for that. The vet says that although we previously thought he saw out of it okay (he responds well to that eye, he doesn’t run into anything, have a problem with his food, or coming when you call him), the vet today said that he’s probably not seeing anything out of it really, he can probably see shapes, and be able to relate that to the appropriate noise, but that the chances of him being able to actually see are very very slim, but said it’s for sure something we can take care of by having the cataract removed, so thats good news today! So all in all, other then me feeling like I was going to keel over and die, today was a bundle of good news :)!

I am a 22 year old who feels sort of
like I'm ten. I love ghost stories, pretty
much any type of tea, british &
egyptian history, photography, wp,
and my favourite band is SoCo. I'm
also a bit of a Georgia Nicolson addict.

Aw, too bad, Scrappy is an adorable name. Thumper reminds me too much of the rabbit in Bambi.
