One of these days, one of my songs might get stolen, but UNTIL THEN! You get to suffer through them as I see fit.
When I wrote this, I had a melody going over in my head it was kinda Stars-ish with violins and pretty mix of male/female vocals. (For the record, if you’ve never heard of them, I suggest you listen to “Your Ex-Lover Is Dead” off of the Set Yourself On Fire album first. You know what? Here:
And actually something along the lines of “Signal Fire” (Snow Patrol, Spider-man Soundtrack) could work for this too. Hmm.. I wonder if Gary Lightbody is busy.
There are only a few people who will catch the reference in the last bit of this song, and if you don’t, don’t feel bad - and if you do and think ‘wow she’s an idiot, of course i get it’ thats great, except you have no idea what it means to me sooo, bite me :D - but for the record it’s totally not about smoking… anything. At all. Cross my heart. There are a few more references in it as well, but none that will mean anything to anyone who comes here, haha.
